Unique Velociti™ Series Protocol Greatly Increases Speed of Trouble Reports to Fire Control Panel

Northford, CT - Gamewell-FCI, part of Honeywell Fire Systems and a leading manufacturer of fire alarm and emergency evacuation systems for commercial and industrial facilities worldwide, introduces the Velociti Series full line of smoke detectors, heat sensors and modules. When connected to Gamewell-FCI’s E3 Series™ of expandable emergency evacuation system panels, the Velociti Series’ unique communications protocol allows a detected event to be reported up to five times faster. The decrease in reporting time from sensor to fire control panel results in earlier alarm notification of possible threats to life and property.

The Velociti Series protocol saves precious time by monitoring/polling 10 sensors per loop in unison, rather than the common polling of one device within a loop at a time. This communications protocol furthermore enables users to easily meet the sensor polling standards required by Underwriters Laboratories’ 9th edition of code 864.

The Velociti Series allows for longer loop distances of up to 12,000 feet, while also extending the device capacity per loop from 197 to 398 (159 detectors and 159 modules)
