New Hotel’s Strict Fire Requirements Met by Modern System with Intuitive Touchscreen Operability

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites located in the university area of Columbia, Mo., is a 121-room all-suite hotel with 5,000 square feet of conference space, and an indoor pool and hot tub. The new, four-story high steel structure is located near the University of Missouri campus. It expands lodging options in the university town, which are in high demand during weekend football games, graduation, or other events. The hotel is the newest property of the Puri Group of Enterprises, which owns and operates six hotels in Missouri and takes pride in its reputation of proven quality and reliability in the hospitality industry.

Critical Life Safety Systems for Mission Critical Facility

A 13-story Atlanta mid-rise with high-security office space, training
and data centers – owned by a confidential, mission critical client – is
now outfitted with an E3 Series fire alarm and emergency communication system (ECS) from Gamewell-FCI that includes an emergency phone system on its own, dedicated fire alarm circuit for enhanced survivability.

The robust system incorporates 31 “areas of refuge” or locations
equipped with a two-way emergency telephone system to enable
occupants to communicate with two redundant security command
centers, one onsite and one offsite. Each of the 31 areas is also
equipped with a standard, high-rise fire fighters telephone system
to facilitate communications between first responders throughout
the building during an emergency.

Multi-Million-Dollar Marriott Brings Sophisticated
Fire Protection to Downtown Syracuse
Marriott’s new hotel in Syracuse, N.Y., combines two of the company’s recognized names – Courtyard and Residence Inn. The new hospitality project is the largest non-office entity built in the city in more than 25 years, and sophisticated fire protection is an integral part of its construction.

Located in the heart of Armory Square in downtown Syracuse, the two hotel brands have separate entrances and registration desks, but share amenities such as meeting and pool facilities. The $27 million facility, appropriately named Marriott Armory Square, is a seven-story high-rise comprising 180 rooms, all just steps away from restaurants, shops and the popular arts and entertainment district.

Student Housing Features the Newest Fire Systems Standardization and best practices at the University of Central Florida
The University of Central Florida (UCF) is the second-largest university in the United States, providing opportunities to 60,000 students from all 50 states and 140 countries. In all, there are 52 buildings of on-campus student housing at UCF, more than 1.7 million square feet. Three new dormitories opened just this fall, part of the second phase of UCF’s Academic Village building project (AV-II). The new buildings, Neptune 156, 157 and 158, were completed within three weeks of each other, constructed on a tight schedule spanning nearly 18 months to be ready in time for the start of the 2013 fall semester.
